How close is the alcohol of the wine to the label?

By law, the wine has to be +/- 1.5% alc./vol. therefore the correct answer is c) 11-14% alcohol.   Since wine is generally under 14% alcohol, a lot of wineries choose to use 12.5% on their label.  Most grapes will naturally ferment in the range of 11-14% so this therefore allows for a lot of flexibility.   This labelling of not being the exact amount of alcohol has run into criticism before as many consumers are not aware of the regulation.
